Pirelli On Top At Ottobiano For The Second Round Of Internazionali d’Italia

Tim Gajser Takes His Second Victory In Both MX1 And In Superfcinal. Maxime Renaux Wins MX2

OTTOBIANO, Italy (February 3, 2020) – The spectacular Ottobiano circuit hosted the second round of the 2020 Internazionali d'Italia Motocross. To tackle the sandy soil of the Lombardian track, Pirelli equipped their riders with the excellent SCORPION™ MX32™ Mid Soft front and SCORPION™ MX™ Soft rear. These tires allowed the Italian company to win all three MX1MX2 and Superfinal classes.   MXGP World Champion Tim Gajser was unrivalled in MX1. The reigning world champion led the race from start to finish. Behind him there was an impressive second place for teammate Mitchell Evans, who repeated his ranking obtained in Riola Sardo last Sunday. Henry Jacobi and Arnaud Tonus shined by finishing in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Maxime Renaux won the MX2 class and moved to the top of the championship standings. There was a strong second place for Gianluca Facchetti who led Tom Vialle and teammate Thibault Benistant at the finish. Pirelli filled the top five positions on the day thanks to Mikkel Haarup in fifth.

Gajser immediately took command of the Superfinal after an amazing start and kept it up to the checkered flag. Evans confirmed his good form by taking the runner-up slot. Tonus finished fourth while Renaux, sixth, was the best rider with the smaller MX2 bike.

The 2020 edition of the Internazionali d’Italia Motocross will end with the third and final round scheduled for next weekend at the Tazio Nuvolari circuit in Mantova.
