PanicREV's Vicki Golden Podiums At Hangtown National

EL CAJON, CA -- After a strong showing at round number one of the AMA Motocross Series Vicki Golden knew that getting on the podium was a realistic goal heading into Hangtown.  Unfortunately the young Honda mounted rider injured her wrist just a few laps into practice. After getting a few x-rays, however, the Asterisk Mobile Medical Team said there were no breaks and cleared Golden to ride. Golden pulled up to the starting gate in pain, but was determined to make sure she got some points. When the gate dropped Golden rocketed from the starting line with an amazing start. Her determination soon found her in second place behind Ashley Fiolek. Golden rode an amazing race, holding off five time former WMA Champion Jessica Patterson the entire moto. When the checkered flag came out Golden took second.

In moto number two Golden got off to a start just inside the top ten, but she put her head down and charged forward. She soon found herself in fifth place putting pressure on both Sara Price and Sherri Cruse. Within a few laps Golden was able to make a pass on both riders and move into third place. Golden’s moto finishes of 2-3 gave her third overall. She currently sits in third place in the series points hunt, only 19 points behind leader Ashley Fiolek. Going into Texas this weekend things should get interesting as Golden, a rookie, builds confidence and gains experience.

Commenting about Saturday's race, Golden stated, "Saturday was definitely an emotional day for me. I hurt my wrist in practice pretty bad. My confidence had hit rock bottom and I was having a hard time pulling myself together. It blows my mind to think that it turned into my first pro podium of the year. I have to thank my mechanic Ben Hertel and trainer Tyler Kalisiak for helping me throughout the day. I wouldn't have been able to get through it without them."

Vicki Golden would like to take this time to thank all of her sponsors: I first want to thank the Lord for blessing me with the gift to ride, and keeping me safe. I also need to thank Resner Builders Hardware, MotoConcepts, Wonder Warthog, Fox, Motoworld, PanicRev.org, Asterisk, BLT Grading and Backhoe, Factory Backing, FMF, Maxima Racing Oils, Protaper, Ready Filter, Precision Concepts, CRFstuff.com, Dunlop, Cycra, Crower Performance, Donn at Transworld Motocross, my mechanic Ben Hertel, and my trainer Tyler Kalisiak.
