Painter J

MANTOVA, 07 May 2007- Belgian painter Jérome Mouraux is a very special artist, actually one of the few painting Motocross.

This is the reason that brought him in Mantova last weekend, at the FIM Motocross Grand Prix of Italy, where a very passionate crowd could admire some of his paintings in the Ristorante Italiano and in the Press Centre.

Jérome Mouraux watched one of the most exciting Motocross Grand Prix’s ever, and stated: “I think there is plenty of racers riding spectacularly out there, and I am thinking of so many of them as my next subject, but I am concentrating on former riders at the moment. Talking about the current riders, I think the first I will paint will be Christophe Pourcel, but most of the times I take my canvas because I am thinking of one specific rider, I end up painting another one!”

Jérome Mouraux was born in 1966 in Brussels, but now lives in France with a wife and four children. When he was 20, he chose painting as his job; as a very optimistic person, Mouraux loves painting passions and emotions, and watching the 2005 FIM Motocross of Nations in Ernée, the Belgian painter decided to connect his passion with his job, and begun to paint Motocross.

Former Motocross World Champion Frederic Bolley really enjoys the Belgian’s works, and said: “I have known the surrealistic landscapes of Jérome Mouraux’s paintings for quite a while. When I was told that he wanted to make Motocross paintings, I was eager to see the result, as I found the idea amazing. When I saw a few of his paintings, I was impressed by the very good work he made. Via this exhibition, Jérome reminds us about some good times of Motocross, with some famous riders and machines that contributed to the legend of this sport.”

As racers constantly improve their riding, Jérome Mouraux is always improving the quality of his work, and there are some important expositions coming up for the Belgian:

  • The Motocross Grand Prix of Belgium in Namur on August 5
  • The FIM Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek on September 23

This was not the first time that Mouraux shows his paintings in race tracks, as last year he was at the Motocross of Nations at Matterley Basin, and at the FIM Off Road Awards in Monte Carlo.
