Motul powers up Australian Supercross Championships as premium partner

Leading engine oil brand Motul has joined the Australian Supercross Championships as a premium partner, underlining its commitment to product development as a direct result of research from the racing circuit.

Motul has pioneered some of the most important milestones in the history of engine oil since the middle of the 20th century.

From producing the world’s first multigrade oil in 1953 to producing the world’s first double ester technology in 2004, Motul has continued to develop a product that protects and endures with the change of engine technology.

Motul has maintained a long-standing involvement with riders and teams at various levels of motorcycle racing competition within Australia.

As a premium partner of the new Australian Supercross Championships, Motul will have a significant on-ground presence at events while working towards the series’ goal of a greater mainstream sporting experience.

Brenden Stoeckert, General Manager of Link International, Australian distributor for Motul, was excited by the refreshed outlook for the dynamic sport.

“Motul is extremely pleased to announce our partnership with the Australian Supercross Championships which enters a new phase of development under a experienced promoter from the 2012 season onwards,” said Stoeckert.

“Motul’s products are developed and refined by what we learn on the racetrack – this is when the engine is pushed to perform at the highest level.

“The partnership will allow us to reach the industry and the wider community of motorcycle riders who have a choice to make when it comes to engine protection and performance.

“We share the vision of IEG for the sport’s growth and can’t wait for the racing to begin.”

Travis Greenwood, Commercial Manager of International Entertainment Group, promoters of the Australian Supercross Championships, said Motul would play a vital role in the sport’s expansion.

"We’re delighted that Motul have joined the Australian Supercross Championship community with their recent sponsorship,” said Greenwood.

“Our two businesses share a common goal to support Supercross in Australia as we look to take the sport to a new level."
