Motors TV Secures Extensive LIVE MXGP Festival Coverage

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 30th July 2012 - British motocross fans will be treated to an unprecedented level of live motocross coverage this summer after Motors TV secured broadcast rights to the MXGP Festival.

As well as the regular MX1 and MX2 World Championship rounds, the High Speed Television Channel will screen live coverage from seven of the additional eight classes competing across the weekend of August 18/19 at Matterley Basin in Hampshire.

The inaugural Festival is widely expected to be the single biggest motocross event on the planet. Indeed, while the World Championship is traditionally limited to no more than two support categories, this year’s British round will feature the likes of MX3, Women, Veteran, EMX 250, 125, 85 and 65 classes, all of which will air live on Motors TV.

All of that – not to mention for the first time both MX1 and MX2 qualifying heats – adds up to an astonishing 14 hours of live MX over two days. It’s a total that perfectly demonstrates Motors TV’s continuing commitment to broadcast the very best motocross from around the world, including AMA Supercross and the end-of-season MX of Nations extravaganza.

Frederic Viger, Motors TV’s Head of Programming and Acquisitions: “The MXGP Festival, ran in conjunction with the British Grand Prix, is a great addition to the FIM World Motocross Championship. Motors TV has been home to the sport’s top riders for a number of years now and it’s great to be bringing together so many different classes from Matterley Basin. I’m confident that we will be showing action-packed racing from every class on display so that as many people as possible can discover the variety that exists within motocross. The recently published 2013 provisional calendar is proof that World MX is continuing to go from strength-to-strength and Motors TV is proud to be recognised as one of its most faithful supporters and broadcasters.”
