Moto XXX, The Most Successful True Privateer Team, Has Been Around For More Than A Decade & Is Back Again For '09 Setting Trends 3

Moto XXX decides to set the trend by beaching its gas guzzling waste of money18-wheeler and reaching back to its OG roots – putting a box van on the road

PUNKSVILLE, USA, (Dec. 26, 2008) – Poking the “IV” into “PrIVateer” for more than a decade and delivering a steady flow of innovation, marked success and a raw edge that’s been second-to-none in the MX industry, Moto XXX announced today that – despite some F'ed up BS Internet rumors - it is back for the '09 supercross season with no plans of just fading away. But indeed into trying new things.

Beaching the 18-wheeler in favor of a back-to-its-roots box van (think Brian Deegan & Brian Swink, circa ’97), Moto XXX is gonna be rolling in old school fashion and will field a 1 man team for the 2009 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, and FIM World Championship.

Riding for Moto XXX beginning at the Anaheim 1 (Calif.) opener will be veteran of many supercross wars, Daniel “DB” Blair. A rippin’ racer and certainly a threat to make the main event every time he boots up, Blair also sings like a veteran rocker for his aptly named hard-core rock/punk band appropriately called "The Main Event."

“Moto XXX aligning itself with DB was naturaly a no brainer. He’s got proven skills on a dirt bike, and he's a talented musician which was the original base of Moto XXX, MX and Music says team co-owner Jordan Burns. “He epitomizes the MX privateer life on the road and we’re stoked to have him aboard as we decide to make some big changes for ’09.”

JB and his partners Smelly E. and Hoss, felt that it was a good time for the team to return back to its core roots from which they started Moto XXX. "This is actually something we've been kicking around for the past couple years and its positively not by "necessity" its our choice. There seems to have been a lot of false rumors traveling around the Internet and such and we want to set things straight...this will be our 13th year racing and we are for sure the most successful true to the word "privateer" team ever. We've been around longer then every team still out there except PC and the factories. That should speak in loud volumes for our highly dedicated efforts. All for the love of this sport."

It takes roughly three quarters of a million dollars to put a semi on the road for the 16-round supercross season and 12-round outdoor national MX season. The team’s principles collectively agreed "Were tired of spending that kind of money for what really started to seem like nothing, pulling teeth with certain sponsors to get paid on time, and being shunned by the "bigwigs" of the industry instead of being welcomed with open arms...we've always been the blacksheep.” So the two drummers and snowboard film maker are returning to their original punk rock plans, of  trying something new (which is actually old), fresh, and exciting at the races. A true voice for the legions of privateer riders that make up the sport and a unique tool in a sea of mediocrity for their sponsors to promote themselves, Moto XXX returns for ’09 – a lean, mean punk racin’ machine!

“Seems like just yesterday when we were shocking the hell out of everybody, throwing out CDs and endless amounts of swag, with hundreds of fans hanging around our box vans. Tosses that would cause near riots in the pits and "Moto XXX" ear piercing chants – Loud enough to draw the crowds away from MC’s autograph line to see what was going on at Moto XXX,” said Sandin. “We all miss those days, man. Things got too boring, too corporate, to conforming. Well, F#ck that. We’re Moto XXX and we’re running it in ’09 like we used to!” Quoted from one of the popular MX message boards from a die-hard fan "I dont care if Moto XXX is in a VW Micro Bus, im a fan for life" Reading and hearing positive things like this assures us we can get back to being a popular staple at the races again and we don't need a oversized truck to do so.

Moto XXX and Daniel Blair open the ’09 season next week at Angels Stadium. Blow off the factory autograph lines and come show us your support. Come hang out and maybe even score some free swag. Moto XXX is pumped to be back for ’09, back to our roots – back for the core fans of MX.. like us!

For more than a decade Moto XXX has been a fixture on the supercross, motocross and FMX national stages. Raw, core and true to the sport, Moto XXX set many of the standards for top shelf privateer teams as we know them today. Combining success with solid competition results, the company’s owners – Erik "Smelly" Sandin (drummer / NOFX), Jordan Burns (drummer / Strung Out) and Kurt "Hoss" Haller – backed their unparallel passion for the sport with their hearts and wallets and delivered a team true to the great American underdog model with proven longevity. Add to that a decided punk rock edge and it’s no wonder that Moto XXX has developed such a loyal worldwide fan base for their efforts...this, all started from their pioneering Moto XXX video series.

See you at the races...Love Moto XXX!!!
