Moose Racing - On The Podium

David
Knight got his 2011 season off to a good start at the inaugural running
of ‘Eddy’s Extreme Race’ – a new extreme enduro organized by former
World Enduro Champion and Moose Racing rider, Paul Edmondson. The event
was held near Leeds, Great Britain and featured a unique format that
found riders competing in two one-hour races over some challenging
terrain.

Knight
got out front early and never relinquished his lead in either of the
races. In the first race, he was joined on the podium by one of his
Moose Racing teammates, Tom Sagar.

“It was a really good day
for me,” said Knight. “Great training and an enjoyable way to start the
year off. I knew that it was going to be pretty hard work, but apart
from a few falls everything went well for me.”

Stateside,
the AMA Arenacross series was in Dayton, Ohio last weekend and there
was no shortage of excitement inside the Nutter Center. All three
members of the Babbitt’s Kawasaki squad easily transferred to the main
event but would run into some tough luck throughout the 25-lap main
event.

Leading the team was Chad Johnson who earned himself a spot on the podium for the third consecutive week.

“I
didn’t have the greatest start, but it was decent,” said Johnson. “I
just put my head down and worked into third, but lapped riders were
everywhere  – I guess that the blue flags didn’t mean much tonight.
Still, I took third, and got on the podium which is always a good
thing.”

Tyler Bowers nearly grabbed the holeshot in the main
event but got caught up in the second turn with another rider and was
forced to come from behind. By the checkered flag Bowers had worked up
to fourth place. The third member of the team, Gray Davenport would
closely follow him in fifth.

“I almost had the holeshot,” said
Bowers “But Gibson got by me using the main line through the whoops.
Then in turn two, Zach Ames was next to me when he crashed, and my bike
got locked into his. I eventually got going, but was in last by then;
from that point on I just tried to salvage points.”

Johnson and
Bowers maintain their second and third place standing in the overall
points chase with the series heading to Denver this weekend for the
first two-day race of the season.

The first round of the 2011
WORCS ATV season was this past weekend at Honolulu Hills Raceway in
Taft, Calif. One of the newest members to the Moose Racing family and
defending Pro ATV Champion, Josh Frederick started the season off with
a solid third place finish, just seconds off of the second place
finisher.

The ATV series will take a month off before heading
to Primm, Nev. on February 25 – 26, 2011 for the second round. The
WORCS bikes invade Honolulu Hills Raceway for the kick of their 2011
season this coming weekend.
