Monster Energy/Thor/Leading Edge Kawasaki Owns the Podium at Chilliwack

Kamloops, BC(November 17, 2008) After a successful opening weekend of the Nex-Trax Canadian Arenacross series last weekend, the Monster Energy/Thor/ Leading Edge Kawasaki team came into rounds 3 and 4 looking to improve on their already impressive start and delivered in a big way. The Factory Kawasaki backed effort put all three team riders on the podium over the course of Friday and Saturday night's action.

The team's leader, Teddy Maier, came into the weekend leading the points in the Open class and holding down second in the Lites class. Right from the start of practice he again showed he was a favorite for both classes, adapting to the new track with ease. After winning his heat race, the stage was set for an epic battle with fellow competitor, Kyle Beaton, and for the opening laps they didn't disappoint. After swapping the lead a few times, Beaton came in on Maier and both went down. After remounting, Maier managed to hang onto the lead and take the win. Unfortunately, a protest lodged by the second place rider, Ryan Lockhart, would see Maier docked several positions for jumping on a yellow flag. Still, Maier would rebound to sweep the three remaining main events for the weekend. He now holds a solid lead in both classes with two rounds remaining.

Brock Hoyer came into the weekend looking to put the speed he showed last weekend to good use and he didn't disappoint. First he did a great job shadowing Beaton as he finished runner up in the Lites heat race and followed that up by winning his Open class qualifier. Hoyer capped the night off with a solid second in the Open main. Saturday night brought another solid podium finish when he finished third in the Open main.

After a weekend to get used to his new ride, the team's third rider, Kris Foster, came in looking a lot faster and more confident for rounds three and four. He showed his speed well on Friday night when he put his Kawasaki on the podium with a third in the Lites main. His third was later bumped up to a second after Maier's penalty. He also scored a fourth on Saturday in the Open main, proving him as a viable podium contender for the rest of the series.

The series now takes a break for the month of December before resuming on January 9th and 10th for the final two rounds. For more info on the Nex-Trax Canadian Arenacross Championships check out www.arenacross.ca
