Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Heads to High Point on a High Note

Corona, Calif. –
(June 11, 2010)
– It will be
hard to top last weekend’s performance by the Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki team but Christophe Pourcel, Tyla Rattray, Jake Weimer
and Dean Wilson are up the challenge as the team heads to High Point
Raceway near Morgantown, W.Va. for the third round of the AMA Motocross
Series.

Pourcel comes into the event having won both opening motos in 2010 and
with a nine-point lead in the championship standings. He knows the
easiest way to the championship is to stay on the top of the box.

“I’ve won both first motos so far this season,” said Pourcel. “I want to
keep winning, but I need to do a better job in the second moto.”

Last week Rattray earned his second AMA moto win, but is still looking
for an overall. The former World Champion knows he can compete, but also
that there is room to improve.

“I need to run a better pace early in the motos,” said Rattray. “I know I
have the speed and conditioning to win and I just need to do it. Last
week was good for me and I want to carry that momentum through the rest
of the season.”

For the 18-year-old Wilson, a short memory is the best medicine after
his heartbreaking ride in Texas. Wilson has spent the week back at work
on the practice tracks with the confidence instilled from having the
speed to win a moto.

“I’ve learned from my mistake and it’s time to move on,” said Wilson.
“Reliving last week isn’t going to help anything so I’m just focused on
going out and giving my best at High Point.”

Weimer is still searching for his first outdoor podium of 201, but the
most recent AMA Supercross Lites, West Coast champ knows High Point can
be the turning point of his season.

“I’ve ridden well this year,” said Weimer. “I just haven’t gotten the
starts I need. Last year at High Point I got the holeshot so I’m
confident heading into this weekend.”
