CORONA,
Calif. (February 12, 2012) -A
big crowd came out to San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium for the sixth
round of Monster Energy Supercross. The track was treacherous, and it
seemed as if riders were going down left and right. It all made for
some insane racing, and definitely gave the crowd their money’s
worth!

Monster
Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson completely dominated the
Supercross Lites Class. He was looking good in practice and feeling
super confident. He got a great start in his heat, and held strong
for the rest of the race to take the first win of the night. Another
amazing start in the Supercross Lites West Coast Main gave way to a
win that seemed to come easy to the Scottish-born rider. A crazy turn
of events resulted in a DNF from the former points leader, Eli Tomac.
Wilson’s win, coupled with Tomac’s DNF, secured the points lead
and the coveted red plate for Wilson. He has a few weeks off while
the Supercross Lites East Coast Region gets going, but he will start
his next race two points in the lead.

Monster
Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto had an equally exciting night. He
put his super-human skills on display in his heat race, and easily
scored a first-place finish in the Supercross Class. His fortune
continued throughout the night, as he got a great start in the Main
and smoothly sailed to a victorious finish. He will hold on to the
points lead and the red plate as the series heads to Cowboy Stadium
in Dallas next Saturday.
