MiniMotoSX Race Preview… Bigger Than Ever

ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 25, 2008) “The Biggest MiniBike Race on the Planet” is just a week away and the excitement and anticipation of the nearly 700 riders is at unprecedented levels. The AMA/Maxxis MiniMotoSX will kick-off next weekend’s race festivities in Las Vegas, the official opening of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Finals weekend. The fifth annual MiniMotoSX, held inside the illustrious Orleans Arena on Thursday and Friday, May 1-2, 2008, will again showcase a wide array of racing talent from across the motorcycle industry competing on smaller, often, more enjoyable motorcycles.

Looking through the record number of entries is like reading a “Who’s-Who” of motorcycle stars; Supercross/Supermoto winner and RacerX Industry personality, David Pingree, Multi-X Jet-Ski Champ and Cross-Over star, Victor Sheldon, Current SX racers, Eric Sorby and Chris Gosselaar, X-Games Gold Medalist, Matt Buyten… and the list goes on! There is even a MMSX Women’s title up for grabs that will see motocross/supermoto racer and Miss MiniMotoSX, Erin Normoyle, competing for an AMA National #1 Plate! Returning again this year, to either defend their current or regain their coveted AMA/MMSX #1 Plates, are several well known MiniBike racers, including: Derek Costella, Willy Browning, Tyson Burmeister and Randy Lawrence.

Designed for the amateur based, fast-growing MiniBike rage that is sweeping the nation, the AMA/Maxxis MiniMotoSX is broken down into several different classes based on rider ability level, rider age, and motorcycle size and modifications. Divide that into the more than 700 racers competing in this two-wheeled spectacle, and you have the largest indoor motorcycle race in the world!

“By the time we finish the last Main Event on Friday night, we will have dropped the gate 160 times for all the various practices/qualifiers and Main Events,” points out MMSX originator, Eric Peronnard. “It’s hard to fathom, but the track will endure over 16,000 laps in two days!”

The MMSX Main Show, starting at 8:30pm on Friday, May 2 in the Orleans Arena, is formatted for fun and excitement. In addition to the various quick sprint-race-style races the event will feature several thrilling Special Features, including the incredible Wheelie Wizard, a Celebrity Electric Bike Race and the previously unannounced, Nitro Circus PitBike Mania!

If you have never seen the AMA/Maxxis MiniMotoSX, don’t miss what’s been called “the best racing in Las Vegas!” Log on or call today; tickets are going fast and the event will likely sell out! We hope to see you there!
