Maxxis' Bowers Clinches Arenacross Championship

The
AMA Arenacross championship has again gone to Team Babbitt’s
presented by Maxxis. Tyler Bowers locked up the team’s fourth title
with a victory Saturday night in Rockford, Illinois. The latest
rounds of the series were held April 1-3.

After
finishing eighth the previous night, Bowers began Saturday’s race
in the top three. He gained the lead by the fourth lap and held it
through the rest of the event. The win, which brought Bowers’
overall points total to 400, was his 11th
of the season. “This means so much to me. I’m really happy,” an
ecstatic Bowers commented after the race. Team Manager Denny Bartz
was also pleased: “Obviously, it went great. Tyler had a decent
start and moved into first after a couple laps. There he just
rode consistent and smart, fast enough to stay in the lead, and out
of trouble. It’s great to win this championship. Still, we
have another race left, and another goal in mind for Chad [Johnson].”

Currently
third in points, Johnson hopes to take second place overall. He rode
hard this weekend, making the podium in Friday night’s race with a
second place finish. Team member Gray Davenport has had a solid
season and currently sits seventh in points.

All
three riders have relied on the Maxxcross IT throughout the season.

Maxxis
congratulates Tyler Bowers on his championship and on a season of
outstanding performances, and wishes the best to the entire team at
the final round, scheduled for April 9-10 in Des Moines, Iowa.
