Max Anstie On His Pro Debut With Boost/ampm/Monster/Troy-JLaw Racing Team

Anstie speaks on his plans to race U.S. MX and SX  beginning Sat. with the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team

CARLSBAD, Calif., (May 21, 2009) – Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing’s Max Anstie wanted to set the record straight regarding his plans for racing pro MX and SX here in the States – now and in the future – as he’s about to attempt at qualifying for his first pro MX national this weekend at Glen Helen (San Bernardino, Calif.), the opening round of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.

“My plan is, and has always been, to pursue a professional motocross and supercross racing career here in the States,” said Anstie. “With that I can’t wait for my first opportunity this weekend at Glen Helen. It’s like a dream come true for me.”

An earlier report generated from Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing had stated that Anstie planned to race pro for a set number of years here in the States before returning to Europe to race. This information, the root of which was lost in translation based on dated profile information procured from Anstie’s personal website, was deemed incorrect by Anstie and his agency and has now been corrected with the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team, as well as on Anstie’s personal website.

“I can assure everyone that not only is Max Anstie pursuing a full-on MX and SX racing career here in the States, he’s going to do so with a level of fire and passion that will no doubt lead to years and years of successful results at the pro level,” said Jimmy Button of the Wasserman Media Group, Anstie’s agency. “We wish Max, along with his new teammates on the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team, the best of luck this weekend at Glen Helen.”

Running a KTM Lites class bike with full Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing graphics (Anstie will run a orange front fender vs. JLaw & Nick Wey’s white front fender), Anstie, who just turned 16 in April, is the son of former British MX champion and Czech MXGP winner Mervyn Anstie. A UK native with American MX lineage, Anstie has won multiple European championships (UK, Dutch & Bercy, France titles).

First up for the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team is this weekend’s Glen Helen opener, round one of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships.
