MX Nationals continue at Coonabarabran for JDR/KTM Factory Racing

JDR/KTM Factory Racing will resume its chase for the MX
Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, this weekend when the series
enters round two at Coonabarabran in New South Wales on 14-15 April.

Victorian young gun Josh Cachia narrowly missed a podium position
in the MX2 category aboard the 250 SX-F in Queensland’s season opener
a fortnight ago, now confident that he can continue that form at Goanna
Tracks in Coonabarabran.

“They say you win the
championships in your worst rounds, so I feel like the first round was a
good one for me after a frustrating start to the day,” Cachia
explained. “I had good starts and solid races, so at this stage for
me I just want to build on that and try carry momentum through each
round.”

Cachia’s MX2 teammate Ryan Marmont, a former
champion in the series, was 12th at round one, continuing to recuperate
after suffering a wrist injury in the pre-season. The team’s third
MX2 rider, Brenden Harrison, will again sit out the round after undergoing
surgery last month.

In the premier MX1 class, Queensland’s
2007 champion Daniel Reardon will serve as JDR/KTM Factory Racing’s
lone contender on the 450 SX-F. The power of the KTM should fare well
around the high-speed circuit, which is one of the most spectacular on the
calendar.

The MXD development class for Under 19s riders was a
hot bed of KTM rising stars at round one, topped by Victorian Dylan Long
for the newly formed Choice Motorsports team. He was followed home by
fellow KTM rider Kayne Lamont, making for an all-orange rivalry at the
front of the field.

Coonabarabran’s second round of the MX
Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, series will take place this
weekend on 14-15 April in the first two-day event of the 2012 season.
