Livia Lancelot wins race one in Teutschenthal

TEUTSCHENTHAL (Germany), 22 September 2012 – The final round of WMX FIM Motocross World Championship started today with qualifying Race and Race 1. Riders wake up with 12 degrees temperature in the morning and the day started with a busy timetable because not only WMX and MX3 were racing but MX1 and MX2 as well. The 2012 season of the FIM MX1, MX2, MX3 and WMX Motocross World Championship will finish this weekend with the Grand Prix of Germany. French Livia Lancelot had double victory as she won the qualifying heat and race one as well. The second place went to Australian lady, Meghan Kat Rutledge, who took the holeshot of race one and did a great performance that nobody expected. Larissa Picoto Papenmeier from Germany enjoyed her home GP as finishing third.

Livia Lancelot won race one and she is concentrating for tomorrow´s race two, because there is a new girl who might be as good as she is. Australian Kat Meghan Rutledge was most of the time in front and just with three last laps to go Lancelot managed to take the lead. It was tough racing but Lancelot proved that she is in better form than her rival from Australia. Tomorrow is necessary not to be overconfident, because there could be surprises.

There was a new name in the entry list that nobody knew, but just after the qualifying race it was obvious that Kat Meghan Rutledge might join the top riders. In race one she took holeshot and she did not leave the first position since Lancelot overtook her three laps before the chequered flag.

German Larissa Papenmeier – Picoto returned to the WMX series for the last round in Germany, her home round. She could count on her fans who were making noise and pulling her forward. Finally, after riding very close behind Natalie Kane, she overtook her and became third, that´s the same place she obtained in the FIM WMX Motocross World Championship in 2010.

HM Plant KTM UK´s Natalie Kane was riding always with somebody on her back. She had a good start in the qualifying race and she was riding at the front when Livia Lancelot overtook her and she finished second with Rutledge behind. In race one she battled with Papenmeier for the third place, but she lost the position and had to settle down with the fourth place.

Another German Anne Borchers completed the top five of race one and also of the qualifying race. Borchers rode a consistent race in the fifth position, because she was riding on her own with a comfortable gap behind and in front of her. On the other hand, during the qualifying race she was defending the fourth place against Papenmeier, but she finished fifth.


Britt Van Der Wekken was the sixth ahead of Marie Pettersen who was seventh and eighth was Justine Charroux. Marianne Veenstra was ninth and Sophia Paul completed the top ten.
