Press Release

Lexington, Kentucky, and Legendary Rupp Arena Added to 2012 AMA Arenacross Series Schedule

AURORA, Ill. (December 1, 2011) – With the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series in full swing, Feld Motor Sports®
has announced that Lexington, Kentucky will make its debut on the
racing schedule, helping round out the season with 12 weekends of
competition. For the first time ever, the bar-banging, edge-of-your-seat
excitement of arguably the most unique forms of motorsports on the
planet will invade this popular city.

Legendary
Rupp Arena, home of the renowned University of Kentucky Wildcats
basketball program, will serve as the host venue for this
highly-anticipated race, which will take place on Saturday, February 4,
as the ninth round of the championship.

The
state of Kentucky is no stranger to the AMA Arenacross Series, with
many years of competition taking place in nearby Louisville, in addition
to the small town of Highland Heights, on the Ohio border just outside
Cincinnati. The “Thoroughbred City,” named due to its consensus as the
major center for breeding thoroughbred race horses, is passionate about
its sports, and will surely welcome this one-of-a-kind sport with open
arms.

Adding
to the excitement of the announcement is the imminent homecoming of
reigning AMA Arenacross Series Champion Tyler Bowers. The Babbitts’
Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki, presented by Maxxis, rider hails from
Danville, a mere 30 minutes south of Lexington, and is eagerly looking
forward to the chance to compete in front of his hometown crowd.

“I’m
so excited that Feld Motor Sports has added Lexington to the schedule,”
boasted Bowers. “I grew up right down the road from the city and I am
familiar with the legacy of Rupp Arena. We are going to give the crowd
in Lexington something they will remember forever.”

With
three rounds completed in the 2012 AMA Arenacross Series, the
competition has been fierce and the fight for the championship is sure
to go down to the wire. Currently, Bowers and FMF Power/Poynt TUF
Honda’s Jeff Gibson have proven to be the riders to beat, sharing
victories through the first five races of the season between them.
Entering the fourth round of the season, Bowers sits seven points behind
his rival, and will continue his quest to defend the coveted title.

Rupp
Arena is the centerpiece of the Lexington Center, a convention and
shopping facility that serves as the entertainment hotbed for the city.
Rupp boasts the largest capacity of any basketball arena in the country.
As the site of many memorable moments in both sports and entertainment,
the AMA Arenacross Series is set to combine both avenues and present an
experience unlike anything ever seen before in Lexington.

The
AMA Arenacross Series makes its Lexington debut on Saturday, February
4, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The action of the 2012 season continues in
just a couple weeks, on December 9-10, with Round 4 from Mohegan Sun
Arena in Wilkes Barre, Pa.
