Klatt Battles Through the Pain To Secure Second Place In Moncton

Riverside, CA (August 4, 2008) - Monster Energy Cernics Kawasaki rider, Dusty Klatt rode to a solid second place finish at Moncton's Riverglade MX Park this weekend. Despite riding with an injured foot, he gained four points on second place in the Monster Energy CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals. Jeff Gibson rode to an eleventh overall finish and sits comfortably in eighth place in championship points.

Jeff Gibson grabbed the first moto holeshot and Klatt followed closely in fourth position. Klatt quickly moved into third position and moved to the back wheel of the second place rider. They battled for the first few laps until Klatt finally made a pass on lap seven and maintained the position to the finish line. Gibson struggled to find a rhythm and finished in eleventh position.

Both riders secured good starts in moto two with Klatt running second and Gibson in fourth. The scenario set up a great battle as the top three championship points leaders were 1-2-3. However, on lap two, Klatt nearly crashed and had to dab his already broken foot to save himself. Despite the pain Klatt was able to maintain second place to the finish and Gibson crossed the line in eleventh.

"I had two good motos this weekend," commented Klatt. "Once I got into second place in each moto I just tried to ride at a comfortable pace so I didn't injure my foot even further."

The Monster Energy Cernics Kawasaki team will travel to Sand Del Lee in Ottawa on August 10 for round eight of the Monster Energy CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals.
