KTM's Taddy Blazusiak Wins EnduroCross

Las Vegas, NV – KTM’s Polish rider, Taddy Blazusiak, came home victorious in his battle with the series point’s leader David Knight at the final round of the EnduroCross Saturday November 17, 2007.

Known for his Erzberg win earlier this year, Blazusiak showed he had the experience and skill to battle for the top position early on in the night.  He led his heat race until the last lap when he got stuck in the water and his rear tire came off the rim.  In order to qualify to the main he raced semi #3 grabbing the holeshot and continuing on to take the win.

2007 GNCC Champion, David Knight, won his heat in typical dominating fashion for a direct transfer into the main.  Fellow KTM factory riders Mike Lafferty, Justin Soulè, Justin Williamson, and Nathan Kanney also transferred to the main.  Ten-time National Trials Champion, Geoff Aaron won his heat aboard his #6 KTM earning a spot on the gate for the main event.

The crowd was on their feet as the gate dropped for the final main event of the 2007 EnduroCross Series.  It was Knight and Blazusiak out front around the first turn.  Knight continued to lead for the next four laps with Blazusiak right on his tail.  Blazusiak continued to pursue Knight trying every line in an attempt to make a pass.  The crowd often gasped as it looked like he might take himself out before making a clean pass on Knight.  After the half way mark Blazusiak stepped up and made the pass on the series leader in the lower rock section right before the water.  Knight remained close but Blazusiak was determined to win and he hung on to first position through the checkered flag.

Blazusiak was the overall winner of the night but David Knight would take the #1 plate.  His 1-1-2 score throughout the series earned him more than enough points to win the 2007 EnduroCross title.  Blazusiak and Knight commended each other on good rides and opened the champagne bottles for the podium celebration.  “I want to thank the KTM Team and the event organizers for tonight’s event.  I had a great time and hope to be back for 2008,” remarked an excited Blazusiak after the race.
