KTM racers star in Australian Junior Motocross Championships

KTM riders have captured an
incredible nine class championships in the 2011 Australian Junior Motocross
Championships, contested at Murray Bridge in South Australia last
week.

With nine victories in a
total of 13 eligible categories for KTM models, the Austrian manufacturer
also filled 27 out of the 39 possible podium positions available during the
week of competition.

New KTM
signing Hunter Lawrence was a standout performer over the course of the
national titles, winning each and every moto he participated in on his way
to the 11-Under 13 years 65cc and 9-Under 12 years 85cc Standard
titles.

"I have had the best week
– my KTMs have helped me nail my starts and I can’t believe how
many holeshots I got this week,” said the talented 12-year-old
Queenslander, who rode the KTM 65 SX and 85 SX models to victory.

“I’m stoked to have such great
support from KTM Australia, FOX, KTM Brisbane, Motorex Oils, MPE, Moss
Institute, A1 Imports and Kustom MX. They have helped me achieve my goals
at the Aussie titles and I really appreciate them.”

Liam Andrews wrapped up the 7-Under 9 years 50cc
division on the 50 SX, while Caleb Clifton enjoyed the same success with a
championship win in the 7-Under 9 years 65cc class aboard the 65 SX.

The 65 SX won three titles in
total, with Callum Norton clinching the 9-Under 11 years crown. Norton also
put in a great performance in the 9-Under 12 years 85cc Standard title to
finish second behind Lawrence.

Egan
Mastin won the 12-Under 14 years 85cc Standard and Big-Wheel class, and
Keith Tucker also handed the 85 SX a championship in the 14-Under 16
titles.

Riding the 150 SX in the 15
years 100-150cc class was Hamish Harwood, who also finished runner-up in
the 15 years 200-250cc while riding the 250 SX-F.

It wasn’t just the boys who took out titles for KTM
during the nationals, with Tayla Jones winning the 12-Under 16 years
