KTM News: Amp'd Mobile World Supercross - 1st round Anaheim, CA - Lites West

Things couldn't have went any easier for the Factory KTM team at the start of the day. Both Josh Hansen and Martin Davalos were in the seeded qualifying session with some of the fastest Lites riders in the world.

Josh set the fourth fastest qualifying time at 58.672 while Martin was fifth fastest with a 58.720.

Things continued to look good with Hansen leading the second heat race for a short while before surrendering the lead to a hard charging Ryan Villopoto. That would be the only rider to get by as Josh came home with a solid second place. Martin didn't have it so easy and had to fight every lap for his fifth place finish.

When the gate fell in the main event Hansen got another great start and started battling with the lead pack. Davalos wasn't far behind. Unfortunately that would change on lap 6 with Davalos taking a nasty spill in the whoops that would cause him to not finish the race. Hansen continued to fight near the front. After a short battle with Factory Connection's Jake Weimer for fourth, Hansen finally took charge and finished out the night just one small step off the podium.

Michael Willard from the KTM R&D Race Team also qualified for the main event after attending the last chance qualifier. Willard finished in 16th place in the main event.
