Josh Grant out for the Remainder of 2016, Tyler Bowers in for RedBud

Vital MX - We have some good news and some bad news. Good news is that we'll see current Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Tyler Bowers on the line at RedBud. Bad news is that Josh Grant is out for the rest of the season so he can have surgery on his ankles. We wish Josh a speedy recovery and Tyler the best of luck at RedBud.

Irvine, CA (June 23, 2016) – Monster Energy® Kawasaki fill in rider Josh Grant will have surgery in the coming days to resolve the long-term injury to his ankles. Grant is expected to miss the remainder of the 2016 season and with Grant sidelined, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Tyler Bowers will step up to the 450cc Class and fill in for the injured Wil Hahn at the Redbud National on July 2nd in Buchanan, Michigan.

“I’m really happy to have the opportunity to race the outdoors,” said Bowers. “To be able to do it on the Monster Energy Kawasaki factory KX™450F is a dream come true. Redbud is my favorite track and I’m looking forward to taking full advantage of the opportunity in front of me.”

“The decision to have both ankles operated on at the same time was a tough one,” said Grant. “I’ve been battling this injury for a few years and I want to get it fixed now so that I am ready for the 2017 season. I want to thank the Monster Energy Kawasaki team for the opportunity to race this year."
