Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg Takes Home The Gold at LG World Championships of FMX

POMONA, CALIF. – September 29, 2007 – Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg landed Indian and Candy Bar flips in the three-way final round to win the gold medal and $30,000 at the 2007 LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross at Fairplex Park Saturday night.  Mat Rebeaud landed a pendulum flip in the final and took home the silver medal, while four-time defending champion Nate Adams grabbed the bronze after suffering an apparent flat tire.

The championships were contested in a head-to-head, three-round format, with many of the best FMXers in the world seeded one through twelve, based on their performance in a preliminary round held earlier in the afternoon, to compete for the top prize.

In the first round, all six of the higher seeded riders won their heats, setting the stage for highly-competitive second round pairings between #4 seed Mike Mason and third-seeded Rebeaud, #5 Adam Jones and #2 Stenberg, and 6th seed Jeremy Lusk and top-seeded Adams, much to the delight of the thousands of fans packed into the grandstand at Fairplex Park.

In the second round’s first paring, Rebeaud defeated Mason to earn the berth into the finals. In the round’s second heat, Stenberg went through to the finals after Jones fell hard off his bike. Adams then earned the last finals spot up for grabs when he took care of business against underdog Lusk.

The 2007 Action Sports World Tour concludes its U.S. schedule from November 9-11 at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas with the LG Action Sports World Championships. Tickets will be on sale starting Saturday, October 6 at 10 am (CT) at TicketMaster locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
