JDR Motorex KTM Queenslanders to tackle Toowoomba MX Nationals

JDR
Motorex KTM’s all-star line-up of Australian Motocross contenders
will continues their search for success this weekend when the 2011
Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals continues at Toowoomba in
Queensland this weekend.

With two Queenslanders on the
five-man squad, the team is sure to have massive amounts of support
on Sunday, 22 May, with the event marking round five of nine for the
season.

Former national champion Dan Reardon has been battling
against a wrist injury in recent rounds, however he’ll take on the
task of being the lone Pro Open rider for JDR as teammate Ryan
Marmont has been ruled out with an ankle injury sustained in South
Australia a fortnight ago.

“An MRI scan this week showed
that I’ve broken a piece of bone off my ankle joint,” Marmont
explained. “I don’t have a lot to gain by riding when my ankle is
far from 100 percent, so we’ve decided not to race this weekend and
hopefully it’ll be good for Albury.”

Another Queensland
local in Brenden Harrison will be one to watch in the Pro Lites
class, the talented 21-year-old looking to capitalise on home state
support in order to improve on his third place ranking in the series
to date.

“Being a home race I have a lot of people that I
know coming up and I’ve been feeling really good on the bike all
week,” Harrison said. “I haven’t ridden at Echo Valley very
often, but I feel like the technical nature of the track will suit my
style. The team is right behind me and I’m really thankful for that
– I can’t wait.”

Harrison will have his work cut out for
him though, with teammate and current points leader Matt Moss
determined to bounce back from a horror outing at round four where
his series lead was reduced to 37 points from 85.

Both
Harrison and Moss are joined in the JDR Motorex KTM team by
19-year-old Victorian Josh Cachia, the reigning Under 19s champion
enjoying a solid debut season in the Pro Lites to date.

Also
keep an eye out for Top Gear KTM’s in form Lewis Woods aboard a 450
SX-F in the Pro Open class, while another rider to watch for this
weekend is 16-year-old American Aaron Simonoe on an MXRAD-supported
250 SX-F in the Pro Lites.

Round five of the 2011 Rockstar
Energy Drink MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, will
take place at Toowoomba in Queensland this weekend on Sunday, 22
May.
