Honda Motor Europe is pleased to announce its new official partnership with Gariboldi Honda in the MX2 and E-MX2 series for 2013.
With Gariboldi Honda’s professional set-up and experience racing the MX2 machine, with which the team earned a podium this year at the Lierop, The Netherlands round of the World Championship series, Honda will now be working more closely with the team on the CRF250R.
Gariboldi Honda will retain Russian rider Aleksandr Tonkov, who will compete in the MX2 class once again, and it is expected the 19-year-old youngster can improve on his many top ten placings this year to be at the sharp end of the championship. Gariboldi will also contest the E-MX2 series with 17-year-old Russian Vseva Brylaykov.
Going forward the team will begin the programme in Europe to raise the profile of Honda’s popular MX2 machine while competing at the highest level in World Championship racing. The team, which has been founded by Giacomo Gariboldi, is looking forward to stepping up to the next level as an official representative of Honda.

“I am very delighted about this new cooperation with Honda, as it is a big step forward for the team and it’s nice our efforts have been recognised. We will now have assistance from a technical side to work on the CRF250R machine with Honda, and as we have had some experience with the bike, we are well prepared for working on this project. We also have secured the services of David Philippaerts for the MX1 class, but while we will not receive any manufacturer support for this, we hope he can be a fundamental part in the programme for helping our younger riders. We are really looking forward to a strong future and a good partnership with Honda.”
