Greenville, S.C.'s BI-LO Center revs up for Toyota AMA Arenacross Series as...

AURORA, Ill., (March 6, 2007) – With one Toyota AMA Arenacross Series regional No. 1 plate title remaining to be decided, the feeder system to the Amp’d Mobile Supercross will showcase the future stars of supercross one last time before the season resumes this fall with the Amateur Arenacross World Finals at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

This weekend, March 9-11, Greenville’s (S.C.) BI-LO Center will be home the final Toyota AMA Arenacross Series race of the season – with the AMA Arenacross Lites class’ No. 1 plate on the line in this all-or-nothing contest.

“The Carolinas region produces some fine motocross talent, including supercross legend and current Monster Jam® driver Damon Bradshaw,” said Robert Hansen, director of arenacross for Live Nation. “A lot of the kids you’ll see racing in Greenville this weekend were influenced by Bradshaw during his supercross racing heyday in the late 1980s and early 1990s.”

As it stands for the Eastern AMA Arenacross Lites No. 1 plate, Pittsburgh’s (Pa.) Kevin Hoge holds a 37-point lead over Ohio’s Patrick Massie. With 50 points up for grabs over the two nights it’s still anybody’s championship to win.

Leading the local charge in Friday and Saturday’s pro class from the region will be none other than the aptly-named “Carolina Xpress” team of Jim Neese and Jim Chester. Then on Sunday’s amateur day the talent gets even more local as youngsters Branson Hall (Greenville) and Logan Stokes (Greer) take to the track in the 7-8 50cc class.

Also, on Saturday (March 10th), the BI-LO Center will host the Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Track Party from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fans will have a chance to meet the stars of the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series and get autographs and pictures with the riders. For your free pit pass to the event – in addition to a purchased ticket - stop by Foothills Motorsports. Also, you can pick up a $5 off coupon at participating Wendy’s all shows.
