Gibson and Klatt Qualify for Dallas Supercross Main Event

Riverside, CA (April 9, 2008) – Cernics Kawasaki riders Jeff Gibson and Dusty Klatt rode strong in front of almost 50,000 fans at Texas Stadium and qualified for the Supercross main event. This weekend’s race continues the team’s main event appearance streak at seven for the Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM Championship.

Both Cernics riders were placed in the heat two qualifier for the premiere Supercross class. While Klatt got a great start in the top three, Gibson found himself on the ground in the first turn and had to go to the last chance qualifier. Klatt rode strong in the heat race and advanced directly to the main event with a solid sixth place finish.

Gibson’s start in the LCQ was much better and he battled for the lead with Heath Voss throughout the race. Gibson rode well and won the race to advance to the Main Event. “I got a good start and just tried to stay focused,” explained Gibson. “I was struggling all day with the track surface, so it was good to lead the entire race and get in the main event.”

The Main Event was similar to the heat race for both Cernics riders. Once again, Klatt secured a good start and Gibson was at the back of the pack because of his poor gate pick. Klatt rode strong despite missing the first six races of the season with a shoulder injury and eventually finished in sixteenth position. Gibson continued to struggle with the track in the main event and finished eighteenth.

The team travels to Ford Field in Detroit, MI on April 12, 2008 for round fourteen of the Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM Championship. Visit www.cernicskawasaki.com for team news and updates.
