Gajser closer to the UEM EMX125 title

BASTOGNE (Belgium), 17 June 2012 – The sun was shining this morning and the track conditions of today’s second race were completely different from the ones of yesterday. Tim Gajser dominated the fourth round of UEM EMX125, while Nicolas Dercourt and Pauls Jonas obtained their maiden podium of the season being second and third respectively.

KTM Silver Action’s Tim Gajser was again on the top of the podium, but this time he could not win both heats. Yesterday, the Slovenian rider crossed the finish line with 26 seconds advantage over second classified Magne Klingsheim, but today he crashed twice during the last lap and crossed the finish line third.

The second step of the podium was for Nicolas Dercourt thanks to his 4-2 result. The French young rider was visually moved for being on the podium and he actually admitted that he had worked really hard during the wintertime with his team to obtain such results. Dercourt did not take part in the two first rounds of the season but last weekend he already proved his potential by finishing eighth in the first race. In any case, his performance today showed the talent of this young French rider.

KSM Racing Team’s Pauls Jonass also obtained his maiden podium in the UEM EMX125 series. The Latvian rider, who was the FIM 85cc Junior World Champion last year, has finished fourth and third this weekend, so his consistency made him complete the podium of the Belgian round.

Magne Klingsheim finished second in the first race yesterday, but today he did not have a good start and could only cross the finish line seventh. The Nestaan JM Racing KTM rider missed the podium for just two points, but he is now second in the championship 62 points behind Gajser.

Ludovic Brevers from Kemea-Reytec-Yamaha Racing Team completed the top five thanks to 6-5 result. The Belgian rider did two consistent motos this weekend in his first appearance in the UEM EMX125 series and proved that he is a talented rider who could be fighting for the top five positions of the series.

James Dunn, who was third overall last weekend in Portugal, struggled a lot in the track yesterday and he could not even finish the race. However, the track and weather conditions were completely different today and the young British rider managed to ride second most of the heat. By the end of it, Dunn took advantage of Gajser’s mistake and the Brit won the second race. Dunn has moved from fifth to fourth in the point standings of the UEM EMX125 class.

Alessio Della Mora was seventh overall, Anton Lundgren was eighth and Vaclav Kovar and Jaap Corneth completed the top ten.

Davide Bonini, who dropped down to third in the point standings, had some problems with the goggles yesterday in the first race and he could only finish 13th. Today he got involved in a crash in the first corner of the second moto and he had to settle down with the 15th positions. In the end, Bonini ended fifteenth overall.
