GEICO Powersports Honda Brings Back Kevin Windham

July 29, 2009

Corona, Cal. – After spending most of the summer doing whatever he wants, Kevin Windham is returning to action for the GEICO Powersports Honda team, and is teaming up with Muscle Milk in the process. Starting this week at the X Games, Windham will be back on board his GEICO Powersports Honda CRF450R.

Windham has signed up with Muscle Milk and will also be racing some of the remaining AMA Nationals.

“I had been wanting to get back out there,” Windham said. “We’ve been working on it a long time, and we were able to get a deal through X Games with Muscle Milk, and all my other sponsors are remaining on board for X Games and then some of the remaining nationals. It came together finally, and hopefully we can build a relationship with Muscle Milk and carry it on into the next season. I’ve been using Muscle Milk forever so it seemed like a good fit. Everything else came together with the help of the GEICO Powersports Honda team, and I’m looking forward to getting back out there on the track and having a good testing season as we get ready for supercross.”

GEICO Powersports Honda co-owner Jeff Majkrzak is happy to have Windham back.

“Kevin is the kind of guy you always want on the track if he wants to be on the track,” Majkrzak said. “It’s good that Kevin will be back out there starting this week, and we hope he can mix it up at the front of the pack in the remaining nationals as well. If anyone can come off the couch and compete for wins, it’s Kevin Windham.”

Muscle Milk Marketing Manager Shane McCassy is looking forward to seeing Kevin back on the track.

“We’re excited to have Kevin on the program," McCassy said. "He’s always used our products so it’s awesome to be able to build upon that. We can’t wait to see Kevin mix it up on the podium!”

Windham will be competing at the X Games as well as racing at least two of the remaining four nationals, but maybe more.

“I’m definitely doing Budds Creek and I’m definitely doing Unadilla, and past that, I’m really up in the air as to whether I’m going to do Southwick or I’m going to do Steel City,” Windham said. “I think my favorite track of the two would be Steel City, because it’s one of my favorite tracks overall, but it’s kind of a testament to how much fun I’ve been having. It’s the end of summer and my kids are going back to school, and I’m having fun. As much as I hate sand, I may actually do Southwick.”

Windham will be in action starting tomorrow at the Step Up competition at the Staples Center.
