GEICO AMA EnduroCross presents the new E3 Spark Plugs’ EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship

Press Release

Chance for the younger, up-and-coming EnduroCross riders – ages 16 to 21 – an AMA No. 1 plate to shoot for with this E3 Spark Plugs-sponsored series-within-a-series

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 26, 2009) – The names Dietrich, Blazusiak, Huffman, Brown and Abbott are all synonymous with successful off-road motorcycle racing. But back before Ricky, Taddy, Damon, Mike and Destry got to the top, they were chasing the older guys, working hard to make a name for themselves in the sport.

That said, GEICO AMA EnduroCross series’ presenting sponsor, E3 Spark Plugs, is stepping up to honor the younger, up-and-coming stars of EnduroCross with the newly founded E3 Spark Plugs’ EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship.

“Working in cooperation with the AMA, we’ve developed a classification program for pro EnduroCross racers ages 16 to 21 that builds a series-within-a-series to help elevate the status of our younger GEICO EnduroCross Series racers,” said Source Interlink Media’s VP of Events, Mike Karsting. “These racers will all compete for the E3 Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior EnduroCross Championship and the AMA’s No.1 plate that goes with it.”

So along with the marquee aforementioned names, riders like 19-year-old Colton Haaker, the current E3 Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior EnduroCross points leader, 19-year-old Patrick Smage (2nd overall through two races) and 18-year-old Jacob Argubright will be brought to fans’ attention as the series continues through the coming months.

“As a somewhat young, up-and-coming company ourselves, E3 Spark Plugs was fired up with the opportunity to back the EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship,” said Steve Jonier, VP-Sales/Marketing, E3 Spark Plugs. “E3 Spark Plugs share with these younger racers a great deal of fight and determination – attributes that have served both E3 and all the competitors on the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series well. Best of luck to Colton, Patrick, Jacob and the rest of the rising stars of E3 Spark Plugs Pro Junior EnduroCross Championship and your quest for the No.1 plate.”

Next up on the GEICO EnduroCross tour is the Florence , S.C. , round (Sept. 12th) at the Florence Civic Center . Check out tickets online at www.endurocross.com
