FUNCHAL (Portugal), 06 April 2011 - Youthstream will start with its live broadcast on MX-LIFE.TV at the first Grand Prix in Bulgaria this weekend. This web TV has been created to allow the FIM Motocross World Championship enter into every fans’ home and give more visibility, space and quality to all our Motocross partners. Youthstream’s aim is to present Motocross in a new and modern way allowing fans to participate more and to become a part of our world. These are some facts and figures you should know about MX-LIFE.TV: 1. Up until now fans who wanted to watch Motocross live on TV were obliged to make a subscription for a satellite package and the average of a satellite package in every country is about €40 per month, which comes to an amount of about €500 per year. The Motocross web TV will cost fans €39.99 per year with access every day 24 hours per day with live, delayed, highlights, news and various films coming from every continent and every championship. A very important video archive is available for everyone (you just have to sign up, but there is no fee for the archived images) so that you can see not only the present but also the past Championships and programmes at any moment. 2. The future of sport and movies is web TV. Going by studies made, in 2014 every home in all developed countries will have a HD / 3D / Internet TV. Internet lines are becoming ever more powerful to allow you to view images in very high quality. 3. Youthstream has made huge investments to give each fan the possibility to follow the World Championship, their favourite teams, riders, the back stage and the European Championship live from 14h30 on Saturday until Sunday evening at 18h00. Fans from all over the world will be inside Motocross even more than if they were on the circuit. Not only the future but already the present is via the web. 4. The entire FIM Motocross World Championship will be broadcasted via WWW.MX-LIFE.TV and via the most famous MX media group worldwide with commentary in English, German and French immediately available, Italian and Spanish very soon and in a third phase will follow Chinese, Russian, Indian and the other main languages to cover as much is possible the need of the Motocross fans worldwide: • France www.motoverte.com • USA www.supercross.com • UK www. motomagazine.co.uk • Germany www.speedweek.de • Germany www.mx-report.de • Germany www.crossmagazin.de • Italy www.realmotor.it • Denmark www.dmusport.dk • Hungary www.mxonloine.hu • Europe www.freecaster.tv 5. From 2004 Youthstream has invested more than €18 million into the television production, post production and management, and contrary to other majors sports, like football, Formula 1, MotoGP, tennis, etc., Motocross unfortunately cannot live from TV rights, and from the TV rights revenue, Youthstream doesn’t arrive to cover even 30% of the investment made for TV. But Youthstream knows the importance of the media coverage for teams, organizers, riders, sponsors and fans, and that’s why Youthstream has invested into this department to bring bring Motocross to the homes of each fan all over the world. Of course, Youthstream will continue to put all its efforts to find new traditional broadcasters to increase also the TV Coverage. Youthstream invests a lot into television, new technology, organisation and in the infrastructure at the venue, and today the FIM Motocross World Championship is the best off-road Championship in the world with many teams and riders in each class. Before being managed by Youthstream, Motocross had no television and no infrastructure, it had a poor organisation and very few local media spoke about it. Today if Motocross has this success and everybody has the possibility to follow it live from New Zealand, Europe, America, Asia and Africa, it is thanks to Youthstream’s work, investment and cooperation with FIM, teams and organizers. What Youthstream has done is fantastic and what Youthstream is doing at the moment is even better. Youthstream is linked very much to the new technology and to the new way of proposing the sport, fans can become fully immersed in Motocross with thousands of times more images and information than ever before with much less cost bringing much more visibility to riders and teams and giving much more information to the fans. The decision to create a web TV was made due to the huge change in the world of media, since more than 3 years television stations have been increasingly the Internet and mobile phone rights rather than the TV rights. If we hadn’t made this important change in a very short time, Motocross would have practically disappeared from the screen, and for this reason Youthstream has the duty to look towards the future and make all the convenient changes so that Motocross is always on the front row. Youthstream understands that maybe a few fans may not understand this choice, but they will realize in a few months that this choice is very intelligent and is the right choice for the sport. At the same time, Youthstream wants to confirm that all the existing contracts with television stations will continue throughout this 2011 season. However, the contract with Motors TV, which finalized on 31st December 2010, was not renewed because Motors TV wanted the Internet and mobile telephone rights. In fact, if Motors TV had wanted to continue with the television rights, Youthstream would have surely continued as it has done with all the other channels.
