Freecaster.tv Audience Close to One Million After Five Grand Prix’s

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL), 27 May 2009 – Youthstream is proud to announce that the free of charge online broadcasting of the first five Grand Prix’s of the FIM Motocross World Championship offered by Freecaster.tv has been watched by a total of 895.909 spectators with a peak of almost 250.000 people for the opening round in Faenza.

With this being the first year that Freecaster.tv is broadcasting live and delayed the FIM Motocross and SuperMoto World Championships, this partnership between them and Youthstream is already showing an impressive potential which can only improve in the remainder of the 2009 season.

More and more awareness around Freecaster.tv, a well known online broadcaster, and the FIM Motocross and SuperMoto World Championship broadcasting is being created GP by GP. Including lots of special features, such as riders’ interviews and pre-race shows, Freecaster.tv offers a wide range of video contents to the spectators – all is free of charge and can be easily watched by entering the Freecaster.tv webpage.

Moreover Freecaster.tv gives the possibility to the online media to embed the Freecaster.tv player (that they can access from http://freecaster.tv/live) in their pages, gaining a further audience boost.

The Freecaster.tv player is also available on www.MotocrossMX1.com and www.SuperMotoS1.com as the broadcast series are the following: MX1, MX2, MX3 (delayed only), WMX, S1, S2.

“This is absolutely fantastic!” exclaimed Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream. “After only five Grand Prix events we have already reached 900.000 fans at their homes who are watching the FIM Motocross World Championship live and delayed programmes for free via the internet. We are very proud that together with Freecaster.tv we are able to provide this service to all those fans who want to follow the entire World Championship, and in addition they receive special footage.

“The Youthstream TV department and Freecaster.tv have put in an unbelievable amount of work and now the goal is to reach 2 million viewers by the end of the season.

“Youthstream and Freecaster.tv are unique in the world offering fans the World Championship live on the internet for free of charge. This will open a new era not only for fans, but also for teams and sponsors.”

“Freecaster.tv has used more bandwidth for the first five races than we forecast for the entire 2009 season. With over 50 web sites now covering MX racing LIVE, the fans are tuning in for almost two hours per GP, with 50% choosing to watch fullscreen,” said Raymond Dulieu, founder of Freecaster.tv. “When Braun shavers decided to sponsor the 2009 FIM MX Championships, they intended to make a difference and decided to sponsor the LIVE webcasts. Thanks to their support, never before has MX reached so many people on the Internet and the best is yet to come.”

Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS President, ended: “I am very happy that Freecaster.tv offers fans all over the world the chance to watch the FIM Motocross World Championship, as well as the FIM SuperMoto World Championship. This is globalisation in the best sense of the word and brings our great sport to so many people!”
