Fox Factory Inc., Adds General Counsel And Chief Patent Counsel

Watsonville, CA, February 27, 2008 - Fox Factory, Inc., (D/B/A FOX Racing Shox) a supplier of high performance, engineering driven racing suspension for Mountain Bikes, Motorcycles, ATV’s, Snowmobiles and Off-Road trucks, has announced the addition of David Haugen as General Counsel and Chief Patent Counsel. David will be located at FOX headquarters in Watsonville, California.

Prior to joining Fox Factory Inc., Mr. Haugen was an attorney with the law firm Patterson & Sheridan, L.L.P., one of the top patent firms in the United States according to IP Today, an industry publication. His practice encompassed all areas related to intellectual property, including patent and trademark preparation, prosecution, litigation, licensing, opinions, portfolio management, copyrights, trade secrets and mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions. His clients included both domestic and international corporations.

Mr. Haugen graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A & M University and received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. Prior to his tenure at Patterson & Sheridan, L.L.P., Mr. Haugen was patent counsel for the multi-national oil field service company Weatherford International, Ltd. Prior to that Mr. Haugen worked in research and development in the oil field service and defense industries. He is a named inventor on over sixty U.S. patents.

“We are pleased to have recruited an in-house attorney of David’s caliber. His experience and expertise, particularly in the fields of intellectual property and contract law, will ensure that all FOX inventions are protected at the highest level,” stated Bob Fox, President of FOX.

“As a former motocross and mountain bike racer I am thrilled to join FOX Racing Shox. Bob Fox is an amazing individual and he sets the tone for a great group of people. I am honored and excited to be a part of the FOX team and I look forward to big things in our future,” commented David Haugen. Bob told an interesting story behind the hiring: “In discussions with David, we discovered sort of a ‘déjà-vu twist.’ It turns out that back in Texas in the early ‘70’s David loved racing motocross. But he remembers that, unfortunately, there was one super-fast local rider who he just couldn’t seem to beat – by the name of Kent Howerton. David followed Kent’s career and learned that Kent had gone on to win the 1976 500cc National Championship with FOX AirShox! So…a few months ago when David heard we were looking for an in-house attorney, he already knew who we were. And he knew he would enjoy being part of the FOX team, and could make important contributions.”
