The Honda World Motocross team will conclude the MX1 World Championship season this weekend in Teutschenthal, Germany, the home of Evgeny Bobryshev's debut Grand Prix win, at the 16th and final round of a challenging season for the squad.
After a season, which initially showed a lot of promise pre-season but has been thwarted by numerous injuries for Bobryshev and teammate Rui Gonçalves, the Honda World Motocross team will be looking to bow out of this year's proceedings with good results.
Teutschenthal is a strong track for Bobryshev, who got to grips with the popular circuit last year aboard his CRF 450R to take an outstanding double win, which was also his first moto win, and his debut Grand Prix overall victory. Bobryshev is almost injury free, and frustrated with a lack of podium finishes this season, so the 24-year-old from Kondrovo in Russia will certainly be looking for good results across the weekend to bring his year to a close.
For Gonçalves the situation is unclear as to whether he will take on the hardback, stoney ground of Teutschenthal with the broken shoulder blade sustained last time out in Faenza, Italy just over one week ago. The 27-year-old Portuguese racer was struck by another rider after crashing and has been working with specialists to recover as fast as possible from the concussion and broken shoulder injury to be fit enough to take part this weekend.
As Gonçalves is unsure of how difficult it will be to ride or whether he can make enough steps forward in recovery over the next few days, he will work with team doctor Francesco Pacelli and make the final decision about whether it's possible to race on arrival in Germany.

"I have a really good memory from the Teutschenthal track last year, as I won the GP there. I am going there this year knowing that it's a good track for me, and with that memory in my mind, but it's another year this year, and everything has been so different leading up to this race. For me the main thing is just to have consistent results, and I know it will be incredibly tough to repeat the performance from 2011, but I hope we can have good finishes to end the season in a positive way. I have been building up with the results over the last few rounds, so this is also something to give me a little confidence for the weekend. We did a Belgium championship race last Sunday, which was more good training for me, and yesterday I rode at Lommel. I have some problems with my back with muscle spasms, so I'm a bit stiff and painful, but I'll see the doctor before the weekend to see if we can ease it up before the race."

"It's been a really difficult time since Italy. We have been doing absolutely everything possible with the doctors here in Belgium to be ready for this weekend, but at the moment I don't want to make any comment about whether I will ride or not. I will go to Germany, but the decision will be last minute based on my feeling with the shoulder and so on. I don't want to create any expectation about what is or isn't possible, because at the minute we just don't know. I hope that the situation will be better, and every day of therapy counts at the moment, so we will see when we get there."
