Ferry and Swanepoel Set to Race for Monster Energy Kawasaki at Unadilla

The revolving roster over at Monster Energy Kawasaki continues, but it's made for interesting viewing. We talked to Timmy Ferry a few weeks back at Washougal, and he was looking forward to returning when he wasn't favoring the foot that he broke his heel on at Daytona. It'll also be cool to see Gareth Swanepoel, as yet another GP competitor makes it across the pond to dabble in the U.S. series.

Irvine, Calif. - Monster Energy Kawasaki's Timmy Ferry is set to return to action this weekend at Unadilla in New Berlin, N.Y. Ferry will be joined by European Factory Kawasaki rider Gareth Swanepoel.

While Ferry continues to come back from a broken heel, Swanepoel will return to Unadilla where he last raced in the 125cc class in 2004. The South African rider finished eighth in 2004 and currently sits eighth in the 2009 MX1 World Championship standings.

"It's good to have Timmy back with us," said Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Manager Mike Fisher. "I know he has been working hard all summer to get back to racing and we are hoping he can finish out the season on a high note. Having him race will also help Gareth. He has some limited experience racing in the United States and he is doing a good job this season in Europe. With a two-week break in his schedule it is great that he is able to come over and help us fill Ryan Villopoto's vacant spot on the team."

Swanepoel represented South Africa back in the 2001 Motocross of Nations and is now having a standout rookie season in the MX1 class aboard a KX450F with nine top-10 moto finishes.

The Unadilla event marks the first of four consecutive rounds to wrap up the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Racing Motocross Championship.
