EnduroCross Announces Rookies Class Instruction with Destry Abbott

EnduroCross veteran, along with guest Pro instructors, will give one hour private riding clinic to EnduroCross Rookies in Sacramento

IRVINE, Calif. (May 13) –The EnduroCross promoters, along with Destry Abbott, are pleased to announce a special Rookies Class at three rounds of the 2014 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship. These one-hour, on-track instructional sessions will take place on the Friday nights before the Sacramento, Atlanta and Salt Lake City events. So the first one is scheduled for Friday, June 20th prior to the Sacramento event.

Previous on-track EnduroCross instructional sessions have been extremely popular. And Destry Abbott—one of the series’ most talented and consistent racing veterans—looks to provide extra insight into the challenging obstacles and possibly give away some of his proven racing techniques.

“Having an off-road living legend like Destry Abbot lead a one-hour, rookies-only on-track technique seminar is an absolutely amazing opportunity for the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Rookies,” Said Mike Karsting, VP of events for Source Interlink Media, the producer of EnduroCross. “EnduroCross is a racing series that encourages local riders to give it a try. And nothing will have first-time racers more prepared for the unpredictable EnduroCross experience like this.”

The EnduroCross Rookies classes are open to riders who have not raced an EnduroCross event. It is open to all brands of motorcycles and Amateur, Vet and Women riders are welcome to participate. Riders can sign up online at https://secure.tracksideonlineresults.com/mmsx_ex/index.asp?event=27&l=0 and select the “Rookie (Beginner) class”. Entered riders will meet at Destry Abbott’s DA8training.com/Monster Energy/Kawasaki race rig in the pits at 5:30pm. They’ll be on the track with the five-time National Hare and Hound Champion and special guest Pro instructors by 6pm and back to Destry’s pits for a recap.

“I’m so happy to be able to get on the track with EnduroCross rookies and show them some of the tips and tricks I use every race to manage the challenging race courses,” said Destry Abbott. “The GEICO AMA EnduroCross events are like no other form of racing, and it’s great the organizers understand first-time EnduroCross riders can really benefit from some additional track time. We’ll see you in Sacramento!”
