Press Release

Dodge, Sycuan Casino, Hart and Huntington, Bel-Ray Racing Supercross Team Las Vegas Race Report

Carlsbad,
CA (May 7, 2012) –
The
Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship was held this past
Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kyle Regal and
Tyler Bowers represented the Dodge, Sycuan Casino, Hart and
Huntington, Bel-Ray Racing Supercross Team in the final race of the
season. Teammates Josh Hansen, Josh Hill, Ivan Tedesco, and Kyle
Partridge were on site offering their support and signing autographs
before the race.

Both
active riders started the night in Heat 1; Tyler Bowers
#74 placed sixth (6th)
and Kyle Regal #36 placed seventh in the heat, giving both a direct
transfer into the Main Event.

“It
started out to be a pretty solid night on the bike.  I had a
really comfortable Heat Race and felt good all day.  The track
was pretty tricky tonight.  It’s always tough coming out here
and finding what the bike likes because of how the sun just bakes the
track all year,” said Tyler Bowers.

“In
the Main, I thought things were going pretty good.  I was
sticking the bike in on some guys and finally got aggressive.  I
jumped into one of the corners and Metcalfe tucked in under the guy
in front of him while I was tripling in the air.  I hit him a
bit and on the exit of the turn I clipped his heel and the front-end
was just gone, handlebars straight into the dirt.  I was having
a great battle with Justin Brayton just before I put the bike down,
but that’s racing. From that point in the race I just wanted
to make sure that I finished strong and tried to gain as many
positions as I could.  When you have an incident like I did
early in the race you just have to focus on the next lap and not get
caught up in what position you’re riding.  I rode hard the
last 17 or 18 laps and brought home a 15th-place finish.”

Finishing
20th
overall was Kyle Regal #36. “Not the way that I wanted to ride
during the last race of the year.  I felt pretty good during the
Heat Race but just couldn’t carry the same ride into the Main.
I didn’t have a good starting spot at all and when the gate dropped
I fell behind.  I think it was around the halfway point of the
race when I jumped off the track, clipped a tuff block and the bike
ended up on the pavement.  When I tried to get going the back
wheel just kept spinning and the bike just did circles.”

The
race wraps up the 2012 Supercross season for the Dodge,
Sycuan Casino, Hart and Huntington, Bel-Ray Racing Supercross Team,
but make sure to keep up with the team during the off season online
