Division7/Star Racing/Yamaha - Southwick

August 29, 2009

Southwick, MA - The AMA MX National Series went into action over the weekend at Motocross 338 for the penultimate round of the series. Being the toughest track of the year with its deep sand; it always results to be a true test of man and machinery. Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha fielding top prospects of #41 Matt Lemoine, #43 Broc Tickle, #159 Darryn Durham, #164 Michael Hall, and #455 Lucas Moraes, all came in eager to continue on keeping our steady rise up going.

Unfortunately for the team, Lemoine opted out of racing following timed qualifying because of the crash he endured on Friday during Media Day at the track. Also electing not to race, was Durham who was still feeling the effects from his get off at Budd’s Creek where he popped his shoulder out slightly.

Riding like he had something to prove, in the first moto Tickle got out of the gate in 8th. From there, Tickle put down some solid laps early on, and took his #43 YZ 250F upward into 7th. As time counted down to midway point, Tickle raced his way up to the competitors holding sixth and seventh. Using any reserved energy he had, Tickle put in his best effort to snatch a higher placing, but in the end it was just out of reach and he’d finish out in 8th. When moto two came to existence, Tickle could be found stuck in the gate. Resuming the race in a distant 40th, the focused kid worked in the same grand fashion as earlier. At the halfway point he held 15th, but it didn’t stop there because eventually he would claim 13th in the closing laps.

Also running was Hall who gave his all and put together a quiet, but consistent 21st in moto one. Moto two had Hall running 9th for two laps before crashing out of the race altogether.

Results:

Moto 1 Moto 2 = Overall Finish

Broc Tickle 8th 13th = 8th

Michael Hall 21st 33rd = 28th
