Division7/Star Racing/Yamaha - Jacksonville Supercross 1

Jacksonville, FL - Over the weekend Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha and our squad comprised of, #41 Matt Lemoine, #43 Broc Tickle, and #159 Darryn Durham, all focused intensely at the task of turning in their best and grabbing a finish up front. The final round of the AMA Supercross Lites East series took place in Jacksonville, Florida at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium before 31,653 fans. With ever changing track conditions, team riders Lemoine posted the 4th quickest timed qualifying lap, Tickle followed in 5th, and Durham was in tow sitting 8th. Here is the play by play…

In Heat #2, Lemoine jumped out to the holeshot but was forced wide and filed into 5th. Doing just the opposite was Durham, who made his way into 2nd by the end of lap one while Tickle held onto 6th. Early on lap two, Lemoine found himself trying to rebound only to get taken high up a berm and left on the ground. Back up front, Durham tried his hardest to hunt down the leader, but was unsuccessful. Tickle progressed diligently, taking home 3rd, and Lemoine mounted a super charge from near last to grab 9th just before the checkers.

The main event got underway, Tickle started poorly but was able to tuck to the inside of the first turn. Rounding lap one within the top six, Tickle maintained a pace that helped put him in the breakaway with the top contenders. Also in contention were Star teammates Durham 8th and Lemoine 9th, who set their sights ahead. Lap four saw big changes, as Tickle assumed 4th and went on to pressure for third in the coming laps. Racing themselves into the scheme of things, Durham hit 5th about halfway with Lemoine in 7th. From there, all three riders logged consistent lap which tightened up the race for the podium. With three laps to go, Tickle unleashed a bold attempt to overtake 3rd, unfortunately it failed and he lost the front end. Right there to capitalize, Durham took grasp of 4th, remounting in 7th was Tickle, and Lemoine quietly sat 8th. Inside of one lap to go, Durham lost a spot only to regain a standing of 4th because of a fallen rider. Following suit, Tickle finished a respectable 6th and Lemoine took a tally of 8th to close out the night.

With the eight race championship in the books, the series rankings shaped up with our riders:

Lemoine 7th, Durham 10th Tickle 12th

In closing, Darryn Durham taking home his career best finish and netting 10th in the series overall point tally in his rookie season is quite outstanding for himself and the team. Now our Michael Hall will close out his series at the final two West Coast races. Then the entire team heads to Las Vegas for the shootout between both coasts for bragging rights. Meanwhile, our camp is testing heavily in preparation for the AMA outdoor series which begins in late May at Glen Helen Raceway.
