Division7/Star Racing/Yamaha - Budd's Creek

Press Release

Mechanicsville, MD - The AMA MX National Series headed to the far east of the country visiting Budd’s Creek MX Park in Maryland. Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha rolled in with high hopes of #41 Matt Lemoine, #43 Broc Tickle, #159 Darryn Durham, #164 Michael Hall, and #455 Lucas Moraes obtaining a placing high up the overall rankings. Track conditions were treacherous, with the weather wreaking havoc throughout the day as the skies opened up with constant showers.

Taking top honors of the team and having a rather consistent day was Lemoine. When moto one got underway, Lemoine sat just outside the top ten in 12th. Some quick moves allowed the Yamaha pilot to forge up to 10th, where he then fluctuated up and down slightly for most the race. In the closing stages, Lemoine secured 14th as his finishing position and prepared for the second moto. Race number two for Lemoine began with a stellar 7th place start. As the moto progressed, the Texas native rode aggressively, raising his status to 5th halfway in, and even acquired 4th briefly. A small bobble resulted in a slight move backwards, never willing to settle Lemoine bounced back to capture 5th in the shortened 25 min. moto due to loaming lighting storms.

Next in line on the day would be Durham after a strong start to the weekend. Durham’s moto one showed great promise, after a 10th place start, Durham put on a clinic showing the way to charge. Lap by lap, the Division 7 backed rider climbed up the field very convincingly and took a well deserved 5th. An uneventful moto two saw Durham start 6th, climb up to 5th on lap two, but then suffered a DNF due to a gnarly crash on lap three.

Having a similar finish to last years visit to the facility was Tickle, with a start of 35th due to crashes, the hard working rider soldiered through all thirty-five minutes of the race to take 16th. Bettering his day in moto two, Tickle lit the fuse after concluding lap one in 23rd, once again #43 battled right till the last lap, taking home 11th.

A less than stellar day for Hall was truly unfortunate, after crashing twice on lap one. Hall raced from a minute behind the entire field to a 26th in moto one. Hall suffered from a smoked clutch early in moto two, and called an end to his race which gave him a score of 38th.

Results:

Moto 1 Moto 2 = Overall Finish

Matt Lemoine 14th 5th = 7th

Darryn Durham 5th 35th = 11th

Broc Tickle 16th 11th = 12th

Michael Hall 26th 38th = 32nd
