Division 7/Star Racing/NCY/Yamaha Freestone MX Race Recap

The AMA Motocross series made its move towards the eastern direction this past weekend by landing in the state of Texas and racing at Freestone County Raceway. Being a new national to the circuit, track conditions and with exceptionally hot weather this race would prove to show what each rider has within themselves. Division 7/Star Racing/NCY/Yamaha’s top contending riders, #35 Broc Tickle, #52 Matt Lemoine, #82 Jake Moss, and #99 Wil Hahn all knew they were provided the tools for a successful outing, and now it was time to get to work.

The gate dropped for moto one with Moss 10th, Lemoine 18th, Tickle 20th, and Hahn getting momentarily hung up in 28th. In the early laps, Moss was able to raise himself to 8th, Tickle did what does best, riding right up to outside the top ten, Lemoine jumped to 12th, then slid out the very next lap seeing him fall to 22nd, and the #99 machine sat 18th. Moving past the mid way point, Moss started to slip down the rankings while the other Division 7 riders motored forward. Tickle that had been holding 11th for several laps made a dent into the time difference he had in front of him, which enabled him to go for tenth position, Hahn and Lemoine were now in common ground inside the top twenty with three laps to go, however the teammates had obtained all they could. At the checkers Tickle pulled out a 10th, Moss maintained 13th, just behind Hahn was in 16th, and Lemoine soldiered through in 18th.

Moto two went into session, and for the first time in outdoor competition Hahn started strongly, 6th, however the other three Star Racing pilots circulated with tons of work in there near future. Moss 14th, Tickle 15th, and Lemoine 23rd, but with the heat index reaching triple digits, the boys put their heads down and mounted some serious attacks. Up front #99 was proving his skills, battling and maintaining consistent lap times as other competitors faltered due exhaustion. Coming quickly to join the top ten was Tickle and Lemoine who both aggressively took themselves upward till the last lap. In the end, Hahn took a nice 6th place finish, Tickle nabbed 8th, and the icing on the cake would be Lemoine taking 10th. Not far off the pace, Moss salvaged 15th.
