Team
Suzuki Press Office - June 20.

Rockstar Teka Suzuki
World MX1 were once more present on the FIM Motocross World Championship
podium as Clement Desalle savoured his sixth spray of champagne this
season by taking the runner-up position overall on the works RM-Z450WS
at Teutschenthal for the
Grand Prix of Germany.

A cloudy and cool Talkessel circuit,
flanked by 35,000 spectators, forged another bumpy and difficult surface
that frequently unsaddled the riders as the fast course mixed rutty
course with slippery hard-pack. Desalle was again prevalent among the
leaders in both motos. He fronted the first race until a small slip on a
short uphill dropped him to fourth. Another energetic dice with David
Philippaerts was eventually won by the Italian as the 20-year-old
Belgian crossed the line in third. Desalle was proactive in the second
race and overtook Xavier Boog for another standing of third but had no
answer to the speed of Antonio Cairoli and Ken De Dycker ahead. His
finish however marked the ninth top-three result from 15 outings.

Steve
Ramon was eighth overall. The former World Champion came into the
meeting struggling for fitness due to a painful infection in his right
arm therefore affecting his throttle control. Unable
to run at full speed or capability Ramon persevered to seventh and
eighth.

In the MX1 World Championship standings, Desalle chipped
three points away from Cairoli's lead at the peak of the table. The gap
now rests at 65 between the pair. Ramon is sixth and 11 points from
fifth.

Grands Prix in Latvia (Kegums) and Sweden (Uddevalla) now
await the team before the three week summer break in July.

Clement
Desalle:

"I am not really satisfied because I am
second and I wanted the win but I rode well; did not have any bad
crashes; and my shoulder continues to feel strong so I am happy for
that. I made a mistake in the first moto and it was costly. I had a nice
fight with David and that was fun but I had suffered another error at
an important time in the second moto when I was forced to go outside on a
corner. Ken and Antonio were too fast. I will take each GP at a time
and want to do my best."

Steve Ramon:

"I did the best I could
today. Yesterday my hand was feeling OK in practice but it was painful
after the qualifying race. I knew it would be a couple of hard motos and
it was so difficult to ride. I finished both races but I don't like
being out there like this. I could not control the throttle well and it
gets you down when you can't race like you want, give 100%, or even have
fun on the bike. I just have to hope I can recover quickly. I will rest
this week and try to get through the next two GPs in the best way
possible."
