DeCal Works riders Ben Lamay and Vince Friese will make Pro Debut at Millville National

Kingston, IL (August 11th, 2008) – After successful Amateur motocross “careers”, #526 Ben Lamay and #719 Vince Friese, backed up by DeCal Works, will make their pro debut at the round of the AMA Motocross National in Millville, MN this weekend.

Coming out of a very successful week at the AMA Amateur National Championship at Loretta Lynn’s where he took the title in MX Lites A, Vince Friese is feeling confident and ready for Millville’s track. It is important to note that if it had not been for a DNF in the first Moto, Missouri’s Friese would have been a very serious contender for the Motocross A title, with a win in Moto 2 and a 2nd in the third race.

Alaska’s Ben Lamay is another rider with a very good week at the ranch despite bad first motos in both the MX Lites A and MX A classes. Ben finished 5th in MX Lites A (with a 13th, 4th, 4th moto results) and 7th in MX A (with 19th, 3rd, 3rd moto finishes). In both classes Ben was definitely a strong podium contender.

“We love this time of the year, right after Loretta’s, when some of our Amateur riders turn pro” said DeCal Works’ Ron Joynt. “It’s great to see Vince and Ben come to age through these past years. A lot of hard work led to this. We are proud of them. This is a very rewarding moment when you see the kids that you have been working with during those hard Amateur years, lining up on the gate at Millville, for the first time in the Pro racer’s life. And what a track! Their first taste of pro racing will be through the mighty Millville sand whoops, cheered by the Whoops Monster! It can’t get any better.”
