Anaheim California- At the sixth round of the AMA Supercross series held for the third time at Angel Stadium, DNA Energy Drink/BTO Sports.com/BBMX team rider Matt Boni raced his way to a twelfth place in the 450 main event. It was a great showing and further cemented Matt's position as one of the top privateers in this year's series.
Right before the heat race Boni, from Geneva Florida, took a swig of DNA Energy drink and went out to battle with motocross legend Kevin Windham, the two swapping positions back and forth. At one point Boni tripled over Windham and Travis Preston which meant that he leaped over two moto legends at one time and cemented his place in history. At least we like to think so.
He would eventually grab a transfer spot after getting banged around a bit by KW and get into the main event, which isn't always the easiest thing to do. Ask Ryan Villopoto or Tim Ferry. Once in the main, our guy Matt raced hard on the treacherous track and eventually finished twelfth. He tried his best and isn't that what our moms always said to do?
"I felt pretty good, it was nice to get my season best result and I'm looking forward to jumping over the heads of more guys soon," said Boni after the race.

Before we go, the entire BBMX family would like to send out our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family and friends of FMX Icon Jeremy Lusk. Jeremy passed away due to complications from a crash sustained Saturday evening in Costa Rica. What we all do with racing and freestyle has its risks, however a tragedy like this is very unfortunate. Lusk's memory will live on as one of the best FMX riders forever in our hearts.
Our prayers also go out to our friend Leighton Lillie who suffered a very serious back injury this past weekend at the Tulsa Arenacross. Leighton's spinal cord was not severed in the accident and the nerves in his legs reacted to stimulus. However, Leighton still has a tough road ahead of him and we wish him the best on his recovery. He already has been, and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
