We are going to set aside all objective journalism criteria and just pull for our friend, RC, this week. He has meant a lot to the sport, and our great city, and we want to send him off in style. Ricky Carmichael will join us tonight as he prepares for his last race in Atlanta and another step toward the next chapter in his racing career.
Timmy Ferry has had more comebacks then the Rolling Stones and is a fraction of their age. Just don’t call him "Red Underdog" since he is making his mark as a legitimate contender each week. We have followed out Southern brothers’ career for many years, and are proud to welcome him back on.
Nick Wey was on top of the world until a fuel folly and the subsequent penalty had the handsome Dewitt, Michigan, native wondering what in the hell he has to do for some love. He asked too many questions, and some guy named "Vinny" paid him a "little visit." Unfortunately, his thumb took the brunt of the meeting, and Tricky will be sidelined till around Daytona. He will join us tonight with one of his core fans, Ted "Rooster" Chavez. Rooster will have Nick’s back in the pits from now on.
Rich "The Fonz" Winkler from Dirt Wurx has the unenviable job of trying to create different and challenging tracks each week while trying to satisfy the fans, riders, and industry. Rich will be taking a break from building the Atlanta SX track and stop by the studio to help us on our pit-bike track. It should not take too long and we will have him back at the Dome in no time.
Jimmy Albertson is heading to Atlanta this weekend for his East SX Lites debut. Rumors on the street say the likeable rider has switched colors, and is taking on the series as a privateer with his brother Gregg as his mechanic, driver, and coach. Albee will check in tonight with the details.
Jeff "Full Tilt" Tilton will be at our DMXS Ride-4-AT this Sunday with the Red Bull FMX Team. Tilt will give us the details of their schedule and where you can check them out near you.
Nick Depalo was injured while racing at the Gatorback Winter O’s on November 24th, and sustained a dislocated hip, shoulder, and severe spinal cord injury. Nick is an awesome kid and will be at the Atlanta SX and our charity ride, and will join us tonight, too.
Rick Ware is the team owner of the Pro30.com SX team and also fields a NASCAR Nextel Cup program. It’s a cool crossover and hopefully more teams will do the same. Rick donated a bike for our charity ride and we wanted to thank him for that.
Mike Koger is the boss at Smooth Industries, which is one of the coolest MX swag companies in the industry. He is in Atlanta and will drop by the studio as well. He is a big contributor to our charity ride and generous folks like Mike ensures the success of our event.
Mountain Adventures owner, Ryan Hardwick, has been a huge part of the ride as well. He teamed up with Suzuki to donate an RM-Z450 this year, and will spend countless hours volunteering at the eventl. Event organizer, Heath Hamrick, will join his old boss on the show tonight as we are all preparing for the big weekend.
