Press Release

Carmichael 11th at Texas Motor Speedway

Ft. Worth, Texas. (June 7, 2009) – Ricky Carmichael and the No. 4 Monster Energy / KHI All-Stars team finished 11th in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway. Todd Bodine scored the victory, followed by Matt Crafton in second place and Colin Braun in third. With six career starts in the truck series, Carmichael is now 21st in the point standings and has four top-eight qualifying efforts. In the team owner standings, the No. 4 KHI All-Stars team is 15th after eight races in 2009.

Ricky Carmichael Post-Race Quote: “I’m happy to finish strong. We got better each run out there. I dropped back early in the race because it’s really difficult to figure out the air (aerodynamics) on these 1 1/2-mile tracks. I was being cautious and careful early on and that cost us a few spots. As the night went on, I got more comfortable and confident in the truck so I was able to race harder. We’re building on it- and once I get the aero thing figured out we’ll be cookin’ with gas!”

Race Highlights: Carmichael, the most successful motocross racer in American history, qualified in the eighth position, but dropped back early in the race with a tight-handling truck. He fell as far as 22nd place on lap 22. The Monster Energy pit crew turned in a sparkling pair of stops on laps 42 and 43, which earned eight positions and he restarted 13th. The team made their next pit stop under green-flag conditions on lap 97, and when the caution flag flew on lap 122, it caught the No. 4 bunch one lap behind the leaders. With only 10 trucks on the lead lap, Carmichael restarted in 13th position, and gained two more spots in the final forty laps, crossing the finish line in 11th position.

NBC for RC: Ricky Carmichael will be a color analyst on NBC-TV Saturday, June 13 during the live network coverage of the High Point National motocross event in Mount Morris, Pa. Watch the telecast for a feature story on Carmichael’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series efforts.

What’s Next: Carmichael is scheduled to race the Monster Energy / KHI All-Star Silverado again Friday night, June 19 at The Milwaukee Mile.
