Buff Honda turns the corner at Whitby

After
several very frustrating race meetings, the third round of the Red Bull
Pro Nationals at the Skelder Bank track outside Whitby, Yorkshire,
proved to be a nice surprise for the Buff Honda team.

For team rider Lewis Rose, qualifying in fourteenth was already a
step in the right direction. In the first race, a mid-pack start around
the first few corners turned into a perfect, solid run up the pack.
After battling with riders Stuart Edmond, Connor Walkley and Kayne
Lamont, Lewis finished in tenth. In the second race, the wet conditions
made the track treacherous, and here Lewis was careful not to take too
many risks, taking another mid-pack start against a formidable pack of
MX1 and MX2 riders to a solid conclusion in tenth again for a ninth
place overall, and entering the championship in eighteenth place.

Team principal Wayne Radford commented: “Today was a good day. We
had no falloffs and no mechanicals; it was an enjoyable day with a good
bit of racing. Lewis enjoyed it. This is a step towards recovery and
getting some decent results.”

Lewis Rose: “Today actually went pretty good, I didn't crash. I felt
good all day really; in the first race I ended up tenth, and same again
in the second one, so it's been quite a good, consistent day.”
