Boost/ampm/Monster/Troy Racing’s Jason Lawrence Sidelined For S.F. SX Lites Round 1

JLaw’s nailed with a bout of food poisoning, hospitalized, and must miss the S.F. SX Lites round according to AMA rules

CARLSBAD, Calif., (Jan. 31, 2009) –Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy Racing’s Jason “JLaw” Lawrence was hit with a gnarly bout of food poisoning and forced to a hospital in San Francisco today where he was administered and IV and, according to AMA rules, is now ineligible to race tonight’s WSX Lites contest at AT&T Park.

“Yeah I’m bummed,” said Lawrence simply when asked about the situation.

Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy Racing team officials notes that Lawrence started to feel the symptoms on Thursday, but tried to fight through it – only to buckle on Saturday morning due to the severity of the illness. Lawrence is expected to make a full recovery in time for next week’s Anaheim 3 contest – a race that he was on the podium in last year (3rd).
