Max Anstie goes 12th/13th for 11th overall, narrowly misses the 250 top ten; teammate Nick Wey soldiers on for a 13th place 450 class finish

CARLSBAD, Calif., (June 29, 2009) – Rookie pro Max Anstie led the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team at Lakewood, Colo.’s Thunder Valley Raceway this weekend, placing 11th (12th/13th) the 250 class for his best finish of the year through five rounds on the Lucas Oil AMA MX Nationals tour.

In the 450 class Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing’s Nick Wey keeps soldiering on despite a leg injury, placing in the top 15 at Lakewood with a 18th/13th two moto effort. Wey actually went down in the opening moto and had to battle from way back just to crack the top 20.

This weekend the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team rolls into Buchanan, Mich., for the summer’s biggest (attendance-wise) National – RedBud. The race is Michigan’s Wey’s de facto hometown race and he’s done well there in the past.

“RedBud’s always a classic time for both the racers and all the fans. The place’s packed and the track’s the best we’ll race on all summer,” said Wey, who’s two points back of Justin Brayton for 10th place overall in the 450 class standings.

Next up for the Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy/Troy-JLaw Racing team is this the RedBud MX National in Buchanan, Mich., July 4th.
