Blazusiak looks to clinch GEICO EX in Denver‏

Blazusiak
– undefeated through four EX rounds - doesn’t even need to win,
just on the rear knobby of Geoff Aaron

IRVINE,
Calif., (Oct. 29, 2010) –
Defending GEICO AMA EnduroCross, presented by
E3 Spark Plugs, champion Taddy Blazusiak (KTM) is again on the cusp of
off-road greatness as the 2010 EnduroCross title is all but wrapped up heading
into this weekend’s fifth (of six) round of the popular indoor off-road
racing series.

“It’s
not going to take an MIT mathematician to figure that Taddy only needs to stay
on the rear knobby of 2nd place (overall) Geoff Aaron to win this
year’s GEICO EnduroCross title,” said
Mike Karsting, VP of
Events for Source Interlink Media. “Taddy’s won the first four
rounds and Aaron’s been 2nd at three of the four, so
there’s pretty good odds that those two guys will be at or near the top
again at Denver.”

For
his part Blazusiak’s pretty chill on things as he gets set to line up for
his 2009 title defense this Saturday at Denver’s Nationals Western
Complex (good seats still available!). The Polish off-road great, backed by
KTM, has put up the most impressive GEICO EnduroCross season to date. And
though he’s aware of the job he needs to accomplish at Denver, running
the table on the EX season means little when compared to winning his second
overall GEICO EnduroCross championship.

“I
have a pretty good lead in the championship and I’m going to just try and
go for it,” said Blazusiak. “We’ll see. I just have to keep
my eyes open and look where Geoff is. (laughter)”

A
hometown race for Aaron, Blazusiak was quick to give the nation’s top
trials rider props, along with the rest of the top GEICO EnduroCross riders
that he’ll face this weekend in Denver. “For sure. It seems
everybody’s gotten better this year, the whole field.”

And
as for an undefeated season, Blazusiak knows it’d be historic, but
stresses that it’s not as important as winning his second GEICO
EnduroCross title.

“A
perfect season for sure would be very nice, but my thing is to win the GEICO
EnduroCross championship,” he said. “If I can win all the races
that would be great. But the goal is the championship so we’ll see how it
goes this weekend in Denver.”

EnduroCross
tracks incorporate various elements of off road racing into a supercross-style
setting, including rocks, boulders, logs, sand, mud, a water-hole … and
even a few special obstacles like giant tires thrown in! Known as the
“toughest racing on two wheels,” this indoor version of extreme off
road racing will certainly keep you on your feet. With its excitement and
unpredictability the EnduroCross championship has always gone down to the wire
and this year will be no different as the series starts and finishes at
Vegas’ Orleans Arena! Don’t miss your chance to see GEICO
Powersports AMA Endurocross “Live.”
