BEL-RAY SPONSORED RIDER MAX NAGL FINISHES SECOND OVERALL AT FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GREAT BRITAIN

FARMINGDALE, N.J. (June 21, 2016) – Bel-Ray sponsored racer and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Max Nagl finished second overall in the MXGP class during the 11th round of the 2016 FIM Motocross World Championship in Great Britain on June 19.

Max Nagl started the weekend out strong showing impressive speed around the Matterley Basin and securing a runner-up spot in the MXGP qualifying race. Moving into Sunday, Nagl struggled to pass competitors due to deteriorating track conditions and secured a top ten finish for moto one.

Jumping into moto two, Nagl, outperformed on his FC 450 taking the holeshot and leading the first six laps. Nagl finished as the runner-up and took his fifth podium of the season.

“It was a pretty good weekend, said Max Nagl. I always enjoy coming to the British GP and especially this track. I got a good start in the qualifying race and finished second so I earned a good gate pick for the final motos. In the opening race I didn’t manage to get a good start. I was seventh or eight and spent most of the race stuck behind Van Horebeek. I was faster than him but couldn’t find a place to pass, so I settled for seventh. We made some changes with my bike between the motos. We changed gearing and it worked to our advantage. I got a massive holeshot in moto two and then put five really intense laps in to make a small gap of almost six seconds.“

Fellow Bel-Ray supported racers who also competed in Great Britain include Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing riders Max Anstie (MX2), Thomas Covington (MX2), Conrad Mewse (MX2) and Christophe Charlier (MXGP).
